I Am a Better Person Because of Her

It's so interesting in this big blog world we share, (yet small in many ways), you can become friends with those you've never met, laugh with those who laugh, and be inspired by real, everyday people like yourself.

Yesterday I wept.

Happy tears. Sweet tears. Stephanie Nielson accomplished something tremendous. Nothing short of a miracle.

Thank you, Nie Nie for your shining example of overcoming a life-changing obstacle. I'm sure many of you know her story. Some may not. This mother of 4 young children almost died in a small plane crash one year ago. Her husband, by her side, has shared the same pain over the past year. Their outward appearance burned and scarred.

Inside...stalwart, courageous, and so amazingly in love.

If you've never read her blog before, I would encourage you to. Her story will draw you in. You will never look at your life the same.

I know I haven't.

  1. I read her when her friends started reprinting her posts on their blogs after the accident. She definitely is an inspiration.

  2. It is so amazing that you would write this post. I myself read and wept inside as I read the post. Tears of sorrow for her mangled appearance, tears of fear for those moments when she feels uncomfortable in her surroundings, tears of accomplishment that she has come so far and tears of joy that she is going to overcome by her prayer of faith. She is a courageous woman and to be admired. Soemtimes life gives us things that we call problems. However, most of the time those problems are just tiny ant hills compared to the giant mountains that others are climbing. Nienie you are a true inspiration and Kris, you like Nienie are a true, heartfelt mom who loves life inspite of what obstacles may come your way :)
