I Love Myself a Good Quilt Shop

When you love fabric as much as I do, the "radar" goes on as soon as I enter any new town or city. One of my first thoughts is, "I wonder where the nearest quilt shop is..."

To some, that may seem very odd.

And to others, you get it. You are my people. :)

I'm not sure exactly what it is. There's just something special about a quilt shop- the charm, the ambiance. And though some may argue that all may carry fabric, trust me...no two quilt shops are created equal.

Can anyone relate? :)

Several weeks ago, I got to visit one of my favorites- Cornwagon Quilt Company. It's absolutely lovely, and so very inspiring.

I found some amazing fabric from one of my favorite fabric designers, Paula Prass.

And this entire fabric line came home with me to make this...

...which inspired me to make this...

Isn't the inspiration cycle from point A to point B to point C wonderful?

  1. Love it! I love how you may have one thing in mind... and by the time your project is done it is completely different than you ever imagined. That's what's so great about inspiration! Because more times than not, it comes out better than planned. : )

  2. I absolutely relate!!! My 5 year old twins have caught my love of fabric and fabric shops already, so my husband has no chance!!! (He's actually very good and encourages us to enter the shop sometimes when I'm feeling we've put him through too much fabric already!!)
