Make a Valentine Centerpiece THIS WEEK!

Last year at this time, I had a lot of fun making these...

Added a little embroidery on paper from my friend Shelli, and got this...

And now there's a fun little centerpiece sitting on my table for the Valentine season!

Want to make one? I have the step-by-step photos of how I put this together and they can be found HERE! If you do make one, I'd love to see yours, too!

My Studio 5 Debut! Stay-cation Hotel Ideas for the Family

OK! I'm home now! Phew...I survived. :) Such wonderful people at Studio 5. It was a really great experience.

Here's the segment...

These ideas were shared on my blog last April and so for those of you who have followed me since the beginning, this just might be dejavu. :) If you would like the free printables from this activity, you can find them at the YouCanMakethis.com blog!

And if you by chance do this with your own families, I'd love to see pics and hear about YOUR experiences!

Taking Down the Tree

Every year, on the eve before taking the Christmas tree down, we all get out our sleeping bags and have one big slumber party under the tree. (Yes, even Mom and Dad with sore backs the next morning.) It's our way of bidding farewell to the Christmas season. :)

A Two-Horse Open Sleigh

My husband's side of the family get together each year after Christmas for a family party. My kids always have a ball playing with oodles of cousins- 26 now! (Or is it 27?) And no, I'm not making any announcement family- I promise. LOL

There's nothing quite like getting together with family, and this year it was also unique to go to a place where just the pure ambiance takes you back to a more simple and not-so-complex time. Sure, we had a few more modern-day conveniences than they did (wheels on the ride), but the nostalgia of looking back in time was really something special.

Here are a few pictures I thought you might enjoy.

And definitely a little bit of heaven on earth...
